What, me worry?

I was at a drive thru the other day and the man in the box was very short with me. He sounded as if he was being forced at gun point to work behind that mike. To be honest, he acted no different at the window.

After being as polite as I could and waiting for my turn to speak so that I could tell him that Jesus Loves him (that really cheers me up, I thought it might work for him) he abruptly said Continue reading “What, me worry?”

What’s in your Junk Drawer?

Life hurts- death, divorce, depression, foreclosure, repossession, bullies… I could go on and on. Have you ever just felt like giving up? I won’t claim to have all the answers to your pain. I do know that Jesus can and will take this pain and heal the suffering you may be feeling, but you must reach out for his hand! He is calling you; can you hear Him in your heart?

My cordless phone battery keeps going dead. I have one of those manual labor phones. I don’t know if everyone has seen them. You know that one that you must stand up to answer the phone. That may be why the cordless phone keeps going dead; I am too lazy to put it on the base…

After digging out that old manual labor phone that I need a crash course on using and coming to the understanding that I can’t just leave it off the hook sitting next to my recliner or it will start barking something really loud until you put it back on it’s base… Continue reading “What’s in your Junk Drawer?”

I can feel the change!

For the first time in my life I have a hunger like never before! I have always been a very passive (yet temperamental ) dude. To be completely honest, I have been more concerned with the contents of my personal bubble than anything else. What I mean by that is; I would buy a hot-rod part before doing anything to contribute to the kingdom of God. I would rather spend my time browsing the endless pages of the parts section of eBay than reading the word of God.

I think one strong reason for this is; I have always been afraid that God will mold me into a better Christian by putting me through the fire. If you don’t know what I mean by that: God will sometimes allow us (Christians) to go through rough times in order to prepare us for his works. This is very difficult for the non-believer or even the believer to understand. God does want the very best for us and I believe he hurts even more than us when we suffer because we are his children. You can look at like this: Continue reading “I can feel the change!”

Wow, what a day!

Praise God!
I experienced the most amazing thing today! I watched as God worked in the life of a child!
I was baby sitting for a few hours while my wife and two of her friends went to Church. I was late getting home from work, I changed clothes and sat at the computer to check my email. As I was about to finish reading the weekly letter from Church. Briana (who is nine) came and sat down beside me and asked what I was doing? She also asked me what was the verse for the day? I saw the verse at the bottom of the letter and she read it:

“He who observes the wind won’t sow; and he who regards the clouds won’t reap.” Ecclesiastes 11:4
Now that is not an easy verse to explain to a nine year old much less myself  . While doing my best Continue reading “Wow, what a day!”
